Trent dies in front of Caroline. The cops come onto the scene as she yanks the knife from his back, making her look guilty and forcing Bo to arrest his own mother for murder.

Daniel tells Kate she has lung cancer. Kate goes about her business as if nothing is wrong.

Julie is suspicious of Melanie.

Daniel tells Nicole she is pregnant.

Phillip and Chloe reminisce.

Hope prays to OMB to watch over Caroline. OMB says it's too hot where he is to worry about her.

Trent and Melanie argue. Melanie threatens to kill Trent.

Trent and the Salem unit of the National Guard argue. The Salem unit of the National Guard threatens to kill trent.

Lexie and Hope talk about the fact that Theo will now have to support his two jobless parents.

Bo and Roman try to convince Abe to take his old job back. Abe refuses and tries to convince Bo and Roman to take the job. They refuse, so Abe pulls some strings, goes to the bottom of the barrel and arranges for someone else to replace him.

Marlena tells Anna she thinks John's problem is biological. Anna encourages Marlena to give John another chance.

John and Stefano have words. John has headaches.

Rolf tells Stefano John will soon overload and die.

The mayor announces the new commissioner to a shocked Salem. The most shocked person of all is the new commissioner.

Daniel is shocked when he sees Kate's x-rays and orders new tests just to be sure.

Chelsea sees Melanie kissing Nick. She blames herself for losing him.

John says he doesn't want Marlena seeing Trent. Marlena wants to explore her options just like John explored Ava. John reminds Marlena she told him to go exploring.

Kate finds out Morgan will be her intern. She reluctantly approves it.

Phillip and Morgan make up. She doesn't want Phillip to push the relationship, though. Phillip immediately pushes for her to run off with him for a celebratory romp.

Victor tells Phillip to concentrate on business.

Trent pressures Nicole for money. Nicole tells him to take a flying leap.

Chloe and Lucas live by the old adage, "Save water - shower together."

EJ tells Sami and Nicole to solve their own problems.

Sami goes to the Horton cabin to get Allie. Nicole reports her and the cops arrest her. Lucas gloats.

Hope breaks every rule in the police manual and turns all the Salem PD records on Trent over to Patch.

Kate goes to Kayla to see about her cough and then refuses to let Kayla x-ray her. Daniel and Kayla gang up on Kate.

Melanie Runs off. Claude purchases Melanie's' services' from Trent. Nick chases her down and saves the damsel in distress. Max, Chelsea and Stephanie catch up with them just as Nick gets shot.

Nicole overhears Patch and Hope talking. She tells Trent the cops are after him.

Abe and Lexie meet with a shrink but make no progress.

EJ tells Nicole he can't get her out of his system but can't commit to her because things are complicated.
